Aquarium In Sydney

Sydney Aquarium Darling Harbour is one of the leading tourist attractions to be found within the city of Sydney, with over 55% of all visitors coming from countries outside of Australia.

A short walk from Sydney city center, the building can be found jutting out into the harbour to the north of the eastern end of Pyrmont Bridge.. This impressive aquatic theme park was first opened in 1988, and is one of the largest examples of an aquarium located anywhere in the world. The Sydney Aquarium Darling Harbour is home to more than six hundred and fifty different species of aquatic wildlife, displaying over six thousand individual creatures collected from almost all of Australia’s varied water habitats.

One of the key attractions for the Sydney Aquarium Darling Harbour is its series of underwater glass tunnels, through which the aquariums many visitors can wander the ocean bed observing the myriad forms of life that call the aquarium home.

2.The Southern Oceans – Dedicated to saltwater creatures found in the cool southern oceans off the coast of Australia. Some of the key attractions of this area include Fairy Penguin’s, Giant Stingrays and the huge ocenarium which houses one of the largest collections sharks in captivity.

3.The Northern Rivers – Dedicated to the adaptable aquatic creatures of the sometimes freshwater, sometimes saltwater rivers on the northern side of Australia. Inhabitants of this exhibit are the Barramundi, Lungfish, Saratoga and Australia’s largest predators the Indopacific Crocodiles.

4.The Northern Ocean – The largest aquarium in the world, this exhibit is dedicated to recreating the Great Barrier Reef, playing host to a dazzling array of marine life including Anemone, Sea Stars, Angelfish, Lionfish and many many more.
